Care for your turntable and phonograph needles

To maintain optimal sound reproduction and to minimize wear on your record as well as on your stylus, we recommend the following procedure before and after each playback:

Remove dust from the stylus tip using a suitable small brush, which should be guided carefully along the cantilever in the direction of the stylus tip.
Following this treatment there will normally be no need to further clean your needle.
Clean the record surface from dust by using a fine anti-static brush or cloth. Most manufacturers do not recommend the use of solvents containing alcohol for cleaning of either record surface or stylus.

How do I find the best record player needle for my home audio system?

P-Mount Style Cartridges

The Audio Technica AT3472p and AKAI RS-53 are superb replacements for all P-Mount style cartridges. Both come with a new needle. Use these to replace cartridges on phonographs equipped with J-mount holders.
